Wet cat food vs. Dry cat food: Which is better?

In this post & video let us look at the pros and cons of wet vs. dry cat food and decide which one is better for your cat.

First and foremost wet cat food typically contains about 80% moisture. Some brands even have higher than 80% moisture.

On the other hand, dry cat food contains about 8-12% moisture.

In the wild cats get most of their required water from their food. Cats tend to not drink water as frequently as dogs. 

In this regard wet cat food is definitely superior to dry cat food.

How much protein is in egg whites?

Egg whites are moderately good sources of protein. The quality of egg protein is one of the best among all the foods. At the same time egg whites offer high protein quantity with very a low-calorie count. This makes them suitable for body builders and athletes.

One egg white weighing 34 grams provides us 3.6 grams of protein. 100 grams of egg whites contain 10.7 grams of high-quality protein.

How many Calories are in honey?

Honey falls under moderate to high Calorie foods category. The calories present in honey are mainly provided by carbohydrates and sugars in specific.

100 grams of honey provides 304 Calories or 1270 kilojoules of energy. One tablespoon of honey weighing 21 grams contains about 64 Calories (267 kJ) of energy.

How many Calories do avocados provide?

Avocados fall under low to moderate calorie foods category. One cup of avocado cubes weighing 150 grams contain 240 Calories or 1000 kJ of energy.

Majority of these Calories are from the fat present in these fruits. One cup of these fruit cubes contain 22 grams of fat.

How much protein is in a chicken wing?

A roasted chicken wing with skin weighing 85 grams contains about 20.2 grams of protein.

On the other hand, skinless variety contains about 26 grams of protein. Chicken skin contains more fat than the chicken meat.

Is almond milk considered dairy?

The answer is no. Almond milk is extracted from almonds which are in no way related to milk & dairy products.

In fact, almond milk is often consumed by people who are allergic to lactose present in cow or buffalo milk. Vegans can also consume almond milk as it is not a dairy product.
